About This Wine
Don Ercilla
50% Merlot – 40% Cabernet Sauvignon – 10% Carménère
The Maule Valley, one of Chile’s southernmost growing regions, is tucked along the western coast and is a near-perfect winegrowing location. The region sees daily influences from the nearby Pacific Ocean as well as the Maule River—both of these bodies of water help mitigate the typically warm and dry days, making the environment a bit more tolerable for grapes planted. The sunshine is generally followed by cooler evenings, and this diurnal shift results in beautifully ripe fruit with incredibly balanced natural acidity. This stunning blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carménère is a gorgeous reflection of how this climate influences these grapes. Full-bodied and plush, deep in color, and fruit-forward, this wine is serious but approachable. A take on a classic Bordeaux blend, this bottle is distinctly Chilean with savory flavors complementing polished tannins that make every sip linger.
