Daring Escape

The Daring Escape 2013 California Red is just that—daring. With strong flavors of cherry, plum, and raspberry the Daring Escape is accented with light notes of sage, olive, and a kiss of smoke for a well-rounded red. Taking the best grapes from all over California veteran winemaker Joe Otos has made another classic.

With over 25 gold medals to his name in the past year, Joe’s deep knowledge of California’s distinct microclimates and terroirs is evident in every sip.

For each wine, Joe selects grapes from the unique California soils best suited for each varietal. Winemaking is a treasure hunt searching all of CA from the coastal vineyards of the Central Coast to the mountainous jagged coastline of northern California - this Merlot takes into account the best that the Golden State has to offer.

TASTING NOTES
Dark garnet with lighter edges, this 2013 California Red shows its age with fruit forward flavors that are balanced by the hint of smoke. The light touch of sage and olive make it ideal for pairing with bread and cheeses.
