About This Wine

Corsage

Chardonnay

At Firstleaf we don’t limit our white wine drinking to summer. We think white wines are just as good in the middle of winter as they are chilled by the pool—especially when paired with seafood. No matter what the time of year a wine as fresh and as vibrant as the Corsage Chardonnay is delightful alongside freshly shucked oysters, king crab, and minced scallop ceviche. The Central Coast Chardonnay grapes make this a joy to drink regardless of whether or not it is paired with food. The citrus notes in the wine leave you refreshed, while the white flowers, vanilla, and wet stone keep you coming back for more. Judges at the 2019 Denver International Wine Competition sent it home recently with a coveted Gold medal!

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Vanilla tasting note. Vanilla
  • A figure representing the Pear tasting note. Pear
  • A figure representing the Mineral tasting note. Mineral

This wine was fermented cold to preserve the fresh and delicate aromatics. With rich notes of citrus, pear, wet stone and vanilla we think it's as good on its own as it is with light foods. If you want a fresh pairing we recommend oysters, crab, or scallop ceviche.
