About This Wine

Coqueverie

Pinot Noir

When we try a new wine, there’s really no telling what kind of influence it will have on us. From the apprehensive but exploratory first sip, it’s a journey. Some make us thoughtful, some make us giddy, and some, like the Coqueverie, are like a dream. This classic California Pinot is smooth with just the right amount of fruity intensity. Like a dream, the wine is delicate but still powerful. The rich texture and plush vanilla play beautifully off of the ripe fruit flavors of pomegranate and cherry. We have been loving it with all kinds of food, but pizza seems to be the ideal pairing for this wine. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2020 West Coast Wine Competition.

Wine Region

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

Pairing this wine is a breeze! That being said, we've been absolutely loving it with fresh Neapolitan style pizzas.
