Intriguing Red

Many everyday things look amazing upon closer inspection: look only as far as the beauty of shells, sunflower whorls, and spiral galaxies to see natural examples of the Fibonacci sequence. Every element is represented by a balanced group of molecules coming together to make something stable. With the Common Phenomena, you can drink in the complexity of a vibrant red wine. This California classic is full of ripe fruit notes: plum, pomegranate, strawberry, and raspberry, but it also has some more subtle flavors that shine through the deeper you look. We love the little tastes of nutmeg, rosemary, coconut, and vanilla. We think this is a great wine to pair with a glazed duck, smoked barbecue, or even a whole braised leg of lamb. Judges deemed it worthy of 90 Points and a Gold medal at the 2019 International Women's Wine Competition and 90 Points from the 2019 New York International Wine Competition.

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
