About This Wine

Cien por Ciento

Torrontés

Try our Cien por Ciento Torrontés, which just won 96 points, "Best in Show" by Country and a Gold Medal from 2022 USA Wine Ratings! Sip like a local Argentinian with our Cien por Ciento Torrontés. Lively aromas, exotic fruit flavor and supple, oak-derived sweetness make this wine an impressive example of this native grape’s stylistic versatility. Along with Malbec, Torrontés is considered one of Argentina’s two signature varieties. This light-skinned grape was born from a natural crossing between the North African variety, Muscat of Alexandria, and various native South American grape varieties. This highly aromatic grape has well-established roots all over Argentina. Notably, it prospers in the high-altitude vineyards of Mendoza, where it utilizes the intense sunlight to develop its hallmark fruity character. Temperatures at these elevations are often cool—especially in the evening—which protects the outgoing aromatic nature locals cherish about this grape. For our 2021 vintage, maturation in American oak brings forth texture and creaminess, resulting in an optimum balance of varietal authenticity and stylistic complexity. Wine Region

Mendoza

Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Grapefruit tasting note. Grapefruit
  • A figure representing the White Flowers tasting note. White Flowers

Bright white flower aromas enthusiastically greet the nose, accompanied by fresh citrus. The palate is lightweight, but unctuous textures create the impression of a fuller body. Coconut and fleshy grapefruit flavors present themselves on the first sip and carry through to a silky finish.
