About This Wine

Che Boludo

Cabernet Sauvignon

The heartbeat of Argentina’s wine production is in Mendoza, a high-altitude growing region near the Chilean border. Vineyard sites in the area range from 2,600 to 3,900 feet above sea level. This heightened planting makes the climate incredibly interesting. Dry and hot days take over the growing season, allowing grapes to ripen fully. Winds coming off the nearby Andes Mountains cool off the day. These cooler temperatures give fruit ample time to develop natural acidity and concentrated flavors. Famously known for Malbec, Mendoza also boasts beautiful Cabernet Sauvignons like this wine. Fruit chosen for this wine was picked at a very low yield, and clusters had small berries that were slightly sunburnt from the continuously sunny days. With an intriguing flavor profile of savory notes combines with big fruit flavors of black and red fruit, this wine is nuanced but approachable.

Wine Region

Mendoza

Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Cloves tasting note. Cloves
  • A figure representing the Blackberry tasting note. Blackberry
  • A figure representing the Black Cherry tasting note. Black Cherry

An intriguing flavor profile of both sweet and savory notes. Dark fruits of black cherry, blackberry, and boysenberry are complemented by savory notes of olive tapenade and clove. Tannins grip the palate and give a dusty feel in the mouth, but will make you go back for another glass.
