About This Wine
Chanmé Méchant
Lightly Sweet Cinsault – Grenache Rosé
Our Double Gold Medal-winning Chanmè Méchant Rosé is crafted in a Provençal style, using a blend of the grape varieties Cinsault and Grenache. However, this wine leans darker in color and fruitier in flavor than the dry, delicate rosés of Provence, and features floral aromas and ripe red and stone fruit notes. Our rosé comes from the Pays d’Oc region in the south of France, separated from Provence by the Golfe du Lion. While strict stylistic expectations rule over winemakers in Provence, the Pays d’Oc offers a breath of fresh air to those wanting to explore new takes on tradition. This diverse region’s warm, sunny climate, drying winds, little rainfall and numerous soil types make it ideal for winegrowing. Winemakers here embrace both New and Old World styles, resulting in exciting wines like this rosé, which will leave you questioning what you thought you knew about French wine. Tasting Notes
- Strawberry
- Melon
- Cherry
Bold scents of sun-ripened wild strawberries and delicate rose petals are followed by a smooth and rounded mouthfeel, modest acidity and pleasing sweetness. Luscious red cherry, yellow peach, and succulent melon flavors prove that French rosé can balance both elegance and fruit.
