About This Wine

Ch. Philippe Jacques & Co.

Bordeaux Blanc

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking Once picked, our grapes are kept cool on their way to the winery and throughout each stage of the winemaking process. These low temperatures are essential to capture Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon’s natural freshness and flavor. Our winemakers sample different blend proportions throughout the wine’s journey to identify the ideal ratio of these two grape varieties, shaping a final blend that is the perfect balance of opulent and bright.

Vintage 2019 was hot and dry in the vineyards of Bordeaux, with a quarter less rainfall than usual for summertime. While our fellow Bordelaise welcomed these uncharacteristically clear skies by soaking up the sun, we kept busy in the vineyard, ensuring our vine’s canopies remained leafy and lush to shade our delicate white grapes. Still, these high temperatures accelerated ripening, moving harvest up into August. The resulting wines are riper than usual but still dominated by freshness and finesse.

Wine Region

Bordeaux

Probably the world's most famous wine region, Bordeaux is a true powerhouse of French quality. While Bordeaux is home to some of the country's most expensive bottles, it is also possible to find great-value wines from small producers. Almost all red and white wines from Bordeaux are blends. Reds tend to be a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. But just as important as the blends are the quality of the region's terroir and unique winemaking techniques. The Bordeaux region is divided by the Gironde River into two main parts. Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme on the Left Bank, while Merlot dominates the Right Bank. White wines are usually a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.

Tasting Notes

  • A figure representing the Brioche tasting note. Brioche
  • A figure representing the Honeysuckle tasting note. Honeysuckle
  • A figure representing the Pear tasting note. Pear

Clean aromas of honeysuckle swirl out of the glass and complement round tree fruit flavors of pear and red apples. A creamy texture lands on the front of each sip and adds a rich lushness to the full-bodied mouthfeel. Citrusy but not acidic, this wine is guaranteed to impress.
