About This Wine
Cartesian
Pinot Grigio
Our bright and youthful Pinot Grigio invites you to immerse yourself in flavor. Cartesian relies on the wisdom gained from the past to shape the great wines of the present and future. Our 2021 vintage is a studied example of signature California Pinot Grigio with crisp acidity complemented by tropical notes and citrus. Although most associate this refreshing grape with Italy, it actually originated in France (called Pinot Gris), where the great thinkers and viticulturists of the time determined it to be a genetic mutation of Pinot Noir. Since making their way to California, Pinot Grigio grapes have made their home in the state’s varied climates. The reliably warm weather and access to the sun allow it to show off its popular fruit-forward styling while cool, oceanic influence protects its lively acidity. This combination of history and science results in a thoughtful and approachable wine worthy of closer examination. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.
