About This Wine
Cartesian
Cabernet Sauvignon
For Rene Descartes, the famous philosopher, thinking, and conversation are the most important means to a larger understanding of the world. Knowledge is built upon ideas of the past, and there can be no art or culture in a vacuum. The makers of the Cartesian 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon take a cue from Descartes and engage with winemakers past and present to find the best techniques for examining their wine and making it better. It's incredibly versatile and worth a thorough examination. The raspberry and cherry notes play off of the decadent mocha flavors, and when paired with food it really shines by pulling in savory secondary characteristics. We believe that this is the best way to learn about wine: try, think, and take notes. Most importantly, keep asking questions. Judges examined it and found it a winner. It took home a bronze medal at the 2018 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition and a silver at the 2018 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge!
