About This Wine
Cantharos
White Wine
A multiple award-winning white wine from southwest France, Cantharos 2015 took the platinum medal at the 2017 Winemaker Challenge International Wine Challenge, scoring 95 points. Cantharos is produced by vineyards from Côtes de Gascogne, a region which won its initial fame thanks to a climate particularly conducive to the production of white wines. The rich alluvial soil, sunny climate, wet spring, and influences from the distant Atlantic Ocean all contribute to the production of wonderfully crisp and aromatic white wines.
The Cantharos 2015 White Wine Côtes de Gascogne is a lovely blend of four varieties of grape. Predominantly Colombard, it also includes Ugni Blanc, Gros Manseng, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Together these varieties combine to produce a unique and vitalizing tasting experience.
This wine is a harmonious medley of sweet and citrus fruits. On the nose, lemon and grapefruit predominate the crisp aroma. On the palate, the citrus flavors continue, which combine with powerful flavors of passionfruit and mango to produce a remarkably fresh and balanced tasting experience.
