Merlot

Introducing our Burelé Merlot–a classic French wine that perfectly balances fruity and oaky flavors. Crafted with care in France's Pays d'Oc region, this Merlot showcases rich, ripe berry aromas, followed by savory characteristics on the palate. This fruity nose and earthy palate mark a traditional French Merlot and will delight your senses as you discover each layer of flavor. Picture yourself enjoying a glass at a charming French bistro, pairing it with classic dishes like roast beef or cassoulet, just like the locals do. Burelé Merlot proves that you don't need to be a wine expert to appreciate its complexity – it's an approachable, easy-to-enjoy wine perfect for any occasion. Burelé 2021 Merlot Pays d'Oc IGP, France

Wine Region

Pays d'Oc

If you've vacationed in the south of France, you've probably visited the Pays d'Oc region. Embracing the Mediterranean from Spain to Provence, this region is famed as much for its Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as its endless sunshine. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.

  • A figure representing the Mulberry tasting note. Mulberry
  • A figure representing the Balsamic tasting note. Balsamic

Our Merlot is filled with fruit on the nose, offering ripe blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, and mulberry notes. The palate is quieter, as earthy, balsamic notes take center stage, followed by hints of spice on the finish.
