About This Wine

Bodewell

Sauvignon Blanc

Bodewell wines put a premium on place. It's why they only source wine from interesting and unique appellations, and it's why $1 from every bottle sold goes to the charity Wine to Water to support their global mission to provide access to clean water to communities in need. You can enjoy this refreshing and elegant Sauvignon Blanc while knowing you are making a difference. This single source wine was grown on alluvial soils and has a pleasant minerality that plays beautifully off of the subtle citrus notes and vibrant acidity. We love this wine with fresh dishes, but it's just as good on its own! Judges love it too! It has taken home 92 points and a Gold medal from three different competitions: the 2018 International Women's Wine Competition, the 2019 West Coast Wine Competition, and the 2019 Monterey International Wine Competition, it has also been awarded 90 points and a Gold at the 2018 Sommelier Challenge and another Gold from the 2019 Hilton Head Island Wine and Food International Wine Competition. And Wine Enthusiast Magazine, one of the premier wine publications on the planet sent it home with 89 points.

Bodewell 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Columbia Valley, Washington

Wine Region

Columbia Valley

Sheltered by the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, Columbia Valley is home to the majority of Washington's vineyards. Cool nights keep zippy acidity in the grapes, while long daylight hours give the fruit plenty of chance to ripen. This results in full-bodied Merlot, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and deeply concentrated Syrah. White wines are just as tantalizing, with toasty oak-touched Chardonnay and ripe stone fruit-flavored Riesling taking the spotlight. Sub-AVAs to look out for are Yakima Valley and Walla Walla. The Columbia Valley is one of the only appellations in the United States to occupy vineyards in two states, as it crosses the Oregon border in the southern part of the valley.
