About This Wine
Avro 618
Southern Sun Fiano
The results of the 2022 Dan Berger's International Wine Competition are in, and this fresh new release has earned "Best of Class" honors!
Our Avro 618 Southern Sun Fiano is light and lean. This uplifting white was described by our winemakers as “extremely food-friendly,” delivering bright citrus and stone fruit notes with skyrocketing acidity. Fiano is native to southern Italy, but like the carrier plane on our label, this versatile variety has ventured to new lands. Fiano has thicker skins than the average white wine grape and is notably resistant to drought-like conditions. This allows for smooth sailing in the vineyards of South Eastern Australia, where high temperatures and intense summer sunlight threaten more delicate varieties. Our 2021 vintage offers an exciting taste of this Old World grape and its successful journey to the New World. Serve this wine well chilled with salty cheeses, fresh seafood or creamy casseroles to upgrade your next social function to first class. Tasting Notes
- Lemon

- Apricot
Bright and energetic, this wine offers aromas of freshly grated lime zest on the nose. The palate is dry, linear and focused, driven by texture over fruit flavor. A light body displays lemon and apricot flavors followed by a pleasant, waxy finish.
