When this popular European grape was first introduced to the Western Cape, it was used primarily in blends due to its high yields and inherent fruitiness. As local winemakers began to recognize this historic grape’s potential in South Africa’s diverse soils and abundant sunshine, they started producing single-varietal Grenache, and the trend caught on. Today, the Western Cape is home to some of the New World’s best old vine Grenache. The wine in this bottle is born from a rich winemaking history and the dedication of South Africa’s modern-day winemakers.
