About This Wine

Aigrette et Cigogne

White Blend

This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.

Winemaking Our blend showcases a classically styled Côte du Rhône white wine, carefully crafted using the region’s traditional winemaking techniques. Following harvest, grapes undergo gentle pressing and cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve their freshness and varietal character. Minimal oak influence only adds texture, ensuring the wine’s fruit remains at the forefront.

Vintage Wines from the Côte du Rhône’s 2023 vintage were shaped by a season of contrasts. Following a historically dry winter, spring brought rain and occasional hailstorms. The region’s cool nights allowed grapes a much-needed respite during an extended summer heatwave, protecting natural acidity levels. The diligent efforts of local winemakers in managing these conditions resulted in wines with distinct freshness and complexity, showcasing the adaptability and resilience of this historic region.

Pairing Logic This elegant and creamy Rhône blend pairs beautifully with a range of dishes. Opt for lighter meat options like herb-crusted chicken or grilled seafood and vegetarian dishes like creamy risotto or goat cheese tarts and salads. When it comes to spices and sauces, choose ones that echo the wine’s flavor profile, such as lemongrass-infused marinades and dressings or a honey-mustard glaze. To bring out the nutty spice notes, try pairing it with dishes featuring toasted almonds or hazelnuts.

Wine Region

Côtes du Rhône

Many of France's best-value red wines come from Côtes du Rhône. The appellation covers the entire Rhône Valley, which is responsible for some of the country's boldest wines. Most Côtes du Rhône wine is red, ripe and fruity, made using a technique called semi-carbonic maceration (a method also used frequently in Beaujolais). This adds flavors of kirsch and even banana to the typical notes of black fruit, red fruit and Provençal herbs. Most grapes for Côtes du Rhône are grown on the warm, windswept plains of the Southern Rhône. And, as always for Southern Rhône wines, the GSM (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre) blend reigns supreme.
