Yellow Spot Delias
Australia
Let the Gold medal winning "Best Chardonnay" Yellow Spot Delias reel you in
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Yellow Spot Delias
Chardonnay
Like its namesake, the Yellow Spot Delias Chardonnay is enchanting. Judges liked it enough at the 2018 USA Wine Ratings competition to name it the "Best Chardonnay" at the entire competition! They also awarded it 90 points and a Gold medal! It's not the first Gold to come home with the Yellow Spot Delias, the New York International Wine Competition also thought it was worthy of a Gold medal! It floats and flutters with effervescent citrus flavors playing off of melon, baking spice, and vanilla. With an easy mouthfeel and pure fruit expression, this wine is great for pairing with fresh, fleshy fish. The creamy texture and subtle buttery characters are offset by hints of oak. We’ve loved it especially with pan seared scallops, fresh salads, and cream based sauces. Let the Yellow Spot Delias 2017 Chardonnay float you away to somewhere a little warmer, and a little quieter.

WINE REGION:
Australia
The Land Down Under is famous for taking well-known European grapes and giving them a new personality. From bold, jammy Shiraz to creamy oak-tinged Chardonnay, herbaceous Sémillon to distinctively citrusy Riesling, when it comes to quality, Australian wine can be breathtaking. This is thanks to its variety of climates and terroirs. Australia is roughly the same size as the continental United States, with temperatures ranging from searingly hot to moderately cool. The best regions have warm days and cool nights, tempered by breezes from the Southern and Indian Oceans.

TASTING NOTES:
Peach
Tropical Fruit
Mineral
The wine has hints of nectarine and melon that play across the palate followed by finishing notes of vanilla and spice. Our aim was to make a "pure fruited" Chardonnay with just a subtle butter character. Try and pick out the subtle stonefruit flavors in this Australian Chardonnay.
