Wyethia Flame
Lodi, California
The crisp new vintage of our “Best of Class” Sauvignon Blanc
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Wyethia Flame
Sauvignon Blanc
Our Wyethia Flame Sauvignon Blanc shows off this grape's fresh textures and bright fruit flavors. It is perfect for anyone looking for something crisp and refreshing. This wine's lively acidity and cheerful citrus notes are all thanks to the unique climate of Lodi. Vineyards here sit in an ideal location, near a gap in California's coastal mountain ranges. This gap funnels in ocean breezes and afternoon fogs from the San Francisco Bay. Cooling influences like this are essential to ensure that the Sauvignon Blanc grapes ripen to perfection, maintaining their natural acidity and aromatics. Our local winemaking partners have been capturing the unique beauty of Lodi since 2004, and their dedication to California's winemaking culture is apparent with each sip. Serve this wine well chilled as you savor some me-time or share it with family and friends. Scroll through the image carousel ab ...

WINE REGION:
Lodi
The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Wyethia Flame
Wyethia Flame is rooted in the history and terroir of Lodi, California. The Wyethia flower shares this region's picturesque landscape with its state flower, the poppy, blooming in the sunny vales and floodplains between gently rolling hills. The "flame" refers to the traditional cultivation of Flame Tokay grapes introduced to the region in the 1900s, which for years supported Lodi's agricultural industry and were a common sight in nearly all its vineyards. Nowadays, this forgotten grape only exists in far-away corners of the region, replaced by European varieties better suited for winemaking. Our wines epitomize Lodi's terroir by respecting the rich history of native flora and cultivated crops, which helped shape the flourishing wine region it is known as today.
