Wyethia Flame

Red Blend

Booming with rich fruit flavors and chocolatey oak characteristics, our Wyethia Red Blend is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. This Cabernet Sauvignon-driven blend is delectably balanced and approachable. Lodi's soil holds the key to grapes reaching plump and juicy ripeness levels come harvest. The ground beneath the vine's canopy is covered in large rocks in many areas. These rocks gather heat throughout the day as the sun bakes this warm Mediterranean region. When day turns to dusk and cool temperatures move in, these rocks continue to radiate heat onto the fruit from below, allowing it to ripen into the night. For you, that means a wine with jammy fruit flavors, relaxed acidity, and silky smooth tannins. Our Red Blend is an effortless way to please all palates when shared with friends and family. Serve this wine at room temperature paired with tangy BBQ and chargrilled vegetables. Scr ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Lodi

Lodi

The jewel of the Central Valley, Lodi lies just east of the California Delta in an area of varied terroir. Winemakers here can extract different grape variety expressions from each plot of land. Zinfandel is common here, making deeply fruity and tantalizingly smoky wines, often from old vines. But the deep loamy soils and balmy Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, help keep Lodi's grape varieties and winemaking styles impressively diverse. Alongside the ubiquitous Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Viognier also thrive. Lodi is a melting pot of different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, all of which make it a rewarding region to explore.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Wyethia Flame

Wyethia Flame is rooted in the history and terroir of Lodi, California. The Wyethia flower shares this region's picturesque landscape with its state flower, the poppy, blooming in the sunny vales and floodplains between gently rolling hills. The "flame" refers to the traditional cultivation of Flame Tokay grapes introduced to the region in the 1900s, which for years supported Lodi's agricultural industry and were a common sight in nearly all its vineyards. Nowadays, this forgotten grape only exists in far-away corners of the region, replaced by European varieties better suited for winemaking. Our wines epitomize Lodi's terroir by respecting the rich history of native flora and cultivated crops, which helped shape the flourishing wine region it is known as today.
