Wits End

Shiraz

Smooth and deep, with a touch of sweet chocolate from oak aging, this full-bodied Australian Shiraz is blended with Barbera grapes that give it a savory quality. It’s a small batch wine, and Travel + Lesiure’s Ted Loos notes “you can taste the handcrafted quality in the ultra-ripe raspberry fruit overlaid with a touch of savory freshness (is that a menthol note?). It clings pleasantly to the palate after you’ve taken a sip.” We reserved as much as we could for our members, who will appreciate how well it complements a wide range of foods.

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to CT.

WINE REGION:

Outline of Australia

Australia

The Land Down Under is famous for taking well-known European grapes and giving them a new personality. From bold, jammy Shiraz to creamy oak-tinged Chardonnay, herbaceous Sémillon to distinctively citrusy Riesling, when it comes to quality, Australian wine can be breathtaking. This is thanks to its variety of climates and terroirs. Australia is roughly the same size as the continental United States, with temperatures ranging from searingly hot to moderately cool. The best regions have warm days and cool nights, tempered by breezes from the Southern and Indian Oceans.
