Whitehall Lane is a Rutherford-based winery in Napa that produces fantastic Cabernets. This beautifully blended 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is exquisitely balanced with excellent fruit concentration. On the nose, this wine offers fresh blackberries, black cherries, blueberry pie, graphite, toasted brioche, and a touch of lavender. The palate offers plush but concentrated tannins, mixed berry jam, dried black cherries, dark chocolate, toasted walnuts, cedar, and a touch of vanilla bean with a finish that softens and lingers. This offering is enjoyable today but will also evolve with cellar aging through 2030.

Napa's signature wines are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and various Bordeaux blends, but many other varieties, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc also thrive here. With 16 sub-AVAs and a Mediterranean climate with rich geology, Napa is a winemaker's dream. The winegrowing region runs between the Mayacamas Mountains and Vaca Mountains for 30 miles, from Calistoga to Los Carneros. Napa has a wide array of soil types for such a small region, from volcanic foothills to alluvial valley floors, which help to produce varied and complex wines.

Whitehall Lane
Whitehall Lane Winery and Vineyards is a local family-owned and operated winery in Rutherford Appellation of Napa Valley. Dedicated to growing and making premium estate wines while providing excellent hospitality with Napa Green certified and sustainable practices. Whitehall Lane was founded in 1979, but the history of the soil cultivation dates back two centuries. In the mid-1800s, Napa Valley settlers were drawn to the deep, loamy soils and ideal climate, planting high-quality grape vines at the Whitehall Lane Winery site. A barn constructed in the early 1900s for equipment storage is still used today. In 1979, two brothers started the winery and directed their winemaking efforts successfully to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. They named the winery after the road that runs along the southern border of the property, Whitehall Lane.
