California's varying appellations are incredibly diverse and individually unique. The combination of temperatures, soils, and weather patterns make the entire state idyllic for grape growing. Two mountain ranges run the spine of the state and come together to create perfect vineyard conditions. Diurnal temperature shifts during the growing season create incredible micro-climates that appeal to many different varietals. Winemakers love the vast range of soils that allow robust flavor profiles to shine. Our Chenin Blanc was awarded 90 points from Wine Enthusiast and dubbed "Best of Class," and 95 points from the 2021 West Coast Wine Competition and is a beautiful reflection of the incredible wines that come out of the state. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
