Whipstitch
California
This Silver medal-winning Petite Sirah is as beautiful as a mountain vista
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Whipstitch
Petite Sirah
The grape is called “Petite” because the fruit is typically very small, but there’s nothing small about the flavor. Smoothed by the coastal influence of the Pacific (warm days and cool nights), the fruit used for this wine offers an incredible concentration of flavor and fruit intensity. The blackberry and black cherry jump out of the glass, and the more subtle notes of licorice, smoke, and leather will keep you coming back for more. The complexity is undeniable and will make for a great pairing wine. Try it with chicken in Mole sauce, cheeses, or stuffed peppers. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2020 Winemaker Challenge and at the 2019 Sommelier Challenge.

WINE REGION:
California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

TASTING NOTES:
Leather
Violet
Smoke
This is a dark inky, wine that has beautiful floral notes. We get violets that mix with leather and the light tannins. The fruit is there but is more subdued that in many wines. It's a complex and fun wine to drink that unfold licorice and smoke as you drink.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Whipstitch
Two colossal mountain ranges traverse the state of California, creating dynamic ecosystems and drastically different terroirs. The Sierra Nevadas to the east and Coastal Ranges to the west form the whipstichery of peaks that outline the edges of California's inland wine regions. Here, our Whipstitch winemakers craft dynamic wines by weaving together fruit from diverse microclimates to fit each region's precise style. Like the picturesque peaks of California, our wines will forever evoke a sense of splendor as they withstand the test of time.
