ABOUT THIS WINE:
Valley Oak Cooperage
Zinfandel-Petite Sirah
Founded by winemakers with a passion for the best grapes, Valley Oak Cooperage originally dedicated itself to perfecting the art of making fantastic Merlots. But after winning prestigious award after prestigious award they decided to work on a new project: making the perfect expression of Zinfandel and Sirah. With a lot of hard work, the award-winning team from Valley Oak Cooperage has created a show-stopping wine that took home a silver medal at the 2017 Sommeliers Challenge.
The Valley Oak Cooperage 2016 Zinfandel-Petite Sirah is incredibly well balanced between the two grapes. The wine has fruit forward notes of plum and blackberry but is still restrained and easy to drink. Try it with grilled steaks and potatoes for an excellent evening in.

WINE REGION:
California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

Valley Oak Cooperage
The winemaker and cooper share a connection through craftsmanship. Both professions strive to stay true to the nature of their materials while pursuing a result that reflects the expertise and nuance of their craft. It is up to the winemaker to match each wine to the vessel best suited to achieve the desired result. Through the adept teamwork of these two artisans, the vibrant and complex wines of Valley Oak Cooperage are born. Valley Oak Cooperage was founded by winemakers with a singular passion for the grape, the winery has dedicated itself to perfecting the art of making fantastic Merlots.
