ABOUT THIS WINE:

Valle de Viñedo

Valle de Viñedo

Pinot Noir

The Valle Central in Chile is one of the largest producing regions in the Southern Hemisphere. The appellation stretches north to south for 250 miles down the narrow country and features multiple different sub-regions. Our winemaking partners planted this particular Pinot Noir in a region within Valle Central that features grainy soils that hold onto water deep in the ground. Maritime breezes from the nearby Pacific Ocean along with the soils force grapes to work hard for nutrients while creating incredibly concentrated flavors. The 2019 growing season in the region was drier and hotter than what is usually seen. Still, colder temperatures at night provided fruit with the opportunity to develop deep aromas and highly concentrated flavors. After harvest, winemakers fermented fruit at low temperatures. Gentle pump-overs allowed color extraction to easily happen and tannins to fully come ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Valle Central

Valle Central

The expansive, warm flatlands of Chile's Valle Central are home to most of the country's vineyards. This long stretch of land from Santiago to Itata Valley is divided into four sub-regions, each with its own climate and reputation. There is Maipo Valley with its minty Cabernet Sauvignon, Rapel Valley with its spicy Carménère and the Curicó and Maule Valleys, famous for concentrated Carignan made from old vines. Throughout the valley—which is prized for its rich, volcanic soils—the hot days and cool nights result in ripe, well-balanced grapes. Some of the most common Valle Central wines are fruit-forward reds made from plummy Merlot and pear-flavored whites crafted from Chardonnay.

TASTING NOTES:

Plum

White Pepper

Blackberry

Very different from its counterparts in California and France, this Chilean Pinot Noir features dark red fruit flavors of pomegranate and raspberry along with deeper notes of blackberry and black plum. A savory spiciness comes out on the back end, making every sip linger on the palate.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Valle de Viñedo

Chile is known for its dramatic landscape, which is unlike any other. As you travel inland from one of the world's longest coastlines, the landscape shifts abruptly, climbing to the extreme heights of the Andes Mountains. Between these soaring peaks, pockets and valleys become the cradle for vineyards, creating the ideal climate for viticulture. Valle de Viñedo wines, too, are unlike any other. With each sip, prepare to be transported.
