ABOUT THIS WINE:

Valle de Viñado

Valle de Viñado

White

We have a rare find that we can’t stop drinking and have to share: the Valle de Vinado 2016 White. It comes from a single, high altitude estate in the mountains of Argentina, and is perched on a steep hillside over 1000 meters (3,400 ft.) above sea level. The grapes grown at this altitude are exposed to harsher sunlight and tougher soils which concentrate the flavor and leads to more expressive, complex wines. The Valle de Vinado is full and fragrant with notes of jasmine and citrus that play out on a long finish. Pair it with light colored meats like poultry or fish to complement the delicate mountain flavors and aromas in this wonderful Argentine wine.

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to CT.

WINE REGION:

Outline of Mendoza

Mendoza

Mendoza is the heart of Argentinian wine production. It was here where a previously little-known French grape variety called Malbec became a global superstar. With its extreme altitudes and Andean climate, Mendoza nurtures its vineyards in dramatic sun-drenched plateaus set against snow-capped peaks. At these elevations, the intense UV light ripens grapes in a unique way, working with the cold mountain air to create gloriously supple and expressive wines with bold yet brightly aromatic fruit. Mendoza's high-quality varietals from Bonarda, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are also notable, as are its fine Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from sub-regions such as Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.

TASTING NOTES:

Lime

This wine is made from Torrontés grapes which are grown all over Argentina and is known for its delicate aromas and flavors. Similar to other fragrant, dry white wines like Riesling and Moscato, the when pairing the Torrontés opt for light colored meats like poultry or fish that won’t overwhelm the moderate acidity and delicate aromas.
