Valeur Ajoutée
Pays d'Oc IGP, France
Fall in love with smooth fruit flavors from our new French brand
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Valeur Ajoutée
Merlot
Valeur Ajoutée directly translates to "added value." This elegant brand is the latest addition to our French wine portfolio, with selections that truly bring something special to the table. Our Merlot is ripe and fruit-driven, with layers of nuttiness and spice from French oak aging. These grapes come from eco-friendly vineyards in France's Pays d'Oc region, where our local winemaking partners put the planet first. They work with Mother Nature by listening to the vineyard's natural life cycles, encouraging biodiversity, and utilizing sustainable techniques. Outside Bordeaux, Merlot also has strong historical ties to southern France and is naturally well-suited to the climate. This makes it an easy choice for eco-friendly winegrowers because it won't require any extra coddling as warm sunshine and cool Atlantic breezes shape refined, flavorful wines. WINE REGION:
Pays d'Oc IGP
If you've vacationed in the south of France, you've probably visited the Pays d'Oc region. Embracing the Mediterranean from Spain to Provence, this region is famed as much for its Grenache, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as its endless sunshine. Pays d'Oc covers non-AOC wines made across this large, sun-kissed region, known as France's "New World." Far from the regulations of the AOC system, pioneering winemakers headed here to experiment, crafting many now-famous wines that often state their grape variety on the label—not something that was common in France before then. IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) within France’s wine classification system focuses on controlling regional and geographical origin. The category is less restrictive than the AOC classification and gives winemakers more freedom with style and taste profile when creating wines.

TASTING NOTES:
Blueberry
Blackberry
Vanilla
Our Merlot greets the nose with uplifting, menthol-like aromas. It has a fruit-driven palate with blueberry and blackberry flavors joined by vanilla and almond notes from oak. It has high acidity and tannins but feels soft, making it an excellent choice for food pairing.
