WINE REGION:

Outline of Terre Siciliane IGP

Terre Siciliane IGP

Italy's Terre Siciliane covers wines made across the island of Sicily—including its satellite islands of Salina, Pantelleria and Stromboli. The wines can be still or sparkling, red, white or rosé, dry or sweet, and made from such grape varieties as Sangiovese, Catarratto and Vermentino. Whatever the style, Terre Siciliane wines benefit from the natural features of this southern Italian region. Sicily's abundant sunshine, mineral-rich soils, coastal breezes and drying African winds help it produce exceptional grapes that transfer into wines of character and expression. The IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) classification within Italy's winegrowing and winemaking world specifically links the place or region where the fruit was grown to the quality of the finished product. It is the broadest of the classifications within the country's system.

TASTING NOTES:

Leather

Strawberry

Cherry

Juicy sour cherry marries with savory characteristics like balsamic reduction, olive tapenade, and dried herbs. Aromatics of leather and red dirt come forward as the Sangiovese signature dusty tannins round out the end of each sip. Guaranteed to disappear fast, this pairs perfectly with any tomato-based dishes.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Tintoretto

The Renaissance gave birth to a treasure trove of ideas and idols, two of which serve as the inspiration behind Tintoretto. The radiant, golden pig on our label symbolizes the daily luxuries awakened by the Renaissance. Pigs have been used for hunting truffles since the Romans, but it wasn't until Italian Renaissance writer Bartolomeo Plantina documented this practice that the idea came to life. For our name, we look to Venice-born painter Jacopo Tintoretto. Inspired by the Italian greats Michelangelo and Titian, Tintoretto used his bold colors and dramatic gestures to tell the story of Italy's past and present. Each bottle of Tintoretto strives to do the same. By using classic Italian varietals and blends, these wines share a taste of Italy's rich history, one of art, science, tradition and rebirth.
