The Perfect No. 6

Shiraz

Our family-owned, 4th generation winemaking partners have helped craft a richly flavored and full-bodied Shiraz. Rooted in slow draining, sandy loam, and clay soils, these vines can access moisture long enough to combat the ever-present threat of drought. This allows them to tolerate the region's extremely high temperatures. The thick-skinned Shiraz (Syrah) grapes take advantage of the abundant Australian sunshine to develop lush dark fruit flavors, which results in deep, dark wines with almost syrup-like characteristics. Our winemaking partners place importance on sustainable farming practices and the use of organic materials. The fruit was harvested at peak ripeness and fermented for seven days in stainless steel tanks to emphasize intense fruit flavor while maintaining a sense of freshness. The use of light oak contact offers subtle notes of spice. This wine is a delicious represen ...

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

The Perfect No. 6

Why did we name ourselves The Perfect No. 6? The answer is rooted in Australian history, number theory, and our belief that great wine combines countless factors working in unity. As for Australian history, in 1901 the six self-governing colonies of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia unified to become the Commonwealth of Australia, a sum greater than its individual parts. How does this tie into number theory? The number six is “perfect” because it equals the sum of its divisors, 1+2+3. Our collection brings out the best of these six states as their distinct environments and various elements culminate into one delicious wine.
