ABOUT THIS WINE:

Ten Year Tree

Ten Year Tree

Deep Blue: Red Wine Blend

There’s an old adage that the best time to plant a tree was ten years ago and that the next-best time to plant a tree is right now. Ten Year Tree wines are all about growing the next generation of winemakers and wine lovers through the enjoyment of high-quality wine. This is a wine that shows beautiful notes of blue fruit that dance elegantly around the glass. The mouth feels round and has a meaty bite, but there is a beautiful floral note that teases its way out in the smooth and velvety finish. We think that this is the perfect wine to pair with meats fresh off the grill or even with hearty soups. Judges love this wine too! At the 2019 Texas International Wine Competition, it took home a Double Gold medal!

The winery responsible for making this wine is Babylon's Peak, which is nestled on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountains. It's a family-run cellar currently in its fourth ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of South Africa

South Africa

With its mountainous, maritime-influenced winegrowing regions, South Africa produces top-quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Chenin Blanc and premium Syrah, Pinotage, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The Dutch brought vines here back in the 1600s to satiate their thirsty sailors en route to India, but they probably never imagined just how important to the wine world South Africa would one day become. Indeed, it took centuries for South Africa to discover its full potential. Most of the country's winegrowing areas thrive in the southwest, known as the Western Cape. Its most famous regions are an easy drive from Cape Town and include Stellenbosch, Swartland, Breedekloof and Franschhoek.

The Ten Year Tree is a delightfully elegant wine with fresh notes of blue fruit and a round, velvety mouthfeel. The structure and interplay between the fruit and the tannins allow for this to be a wonderful pairing wine, and we've been pairing it with red meats and hearty soups.
