ABOUT THIS WINE:
Telling Bird
Zinfandel
Vineyards have a unique ecology that ebbs and flows in vibrancy along with the seasons. The whole ecosystem grows together, and every player has a special role to help the vines grow. Bees pollinate the flowers, humans tend the vines, and the birds help us keep an eye on pests. The Telling Bird Zinfandel is named for the owls and hawks and songbirds that help us farm the land. They eat bugs that would otherwise destroy the fragile vines. Thankfully these Zinfandel grapes were able to reach peak maturity. The wine has bold spice and a fruity intensity. Our experts have been loving it with steaks and barbecue. Judges enjoy this wine too! It took home Silver Medals at the 2018 Press Democrat North Coast Wine Challenge and the 2018 Critics Challenge!

WINE REGION:
Sonoma County
Many of California's world-class wines come from Sonoma County, separated from Napa by the Mayacamas Mountains. Three times the size of Napa, Sonoma is an incredibly diverse region. Cool coastal zones, fog-cloaked hillsides, sheltered valleys and craggy exposed peaks give Sonoma a vast array of terroirs and microclimates. Its many sub-regions produce a broad range of styles: from the bold Cabernets of Alexander Valley to the fragrant Pinots of Sonoma Coast and the sublime Chardonnays of Chalk Hill.

TASTING NOTES:
Cherry
Raspberry
Black Pepper
This is a rich Zinfandel that has all the best Sonoma has to offer. We have been loving the mix of spice and fruity intensity. There is a decent amount of oak that offsets the ripe red fruits. Try this Zinfandel with barbecued meats the spice will complement it very well
