Our Red Blend is Australia's take on two traditional French varietals. This jammy wine features loads of ripe fruit notes with toasty oak characteristics. It is a near-even split of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, with Shiraz leading the blend. In France, Shiraz (a.k.a. Syrah) is associated with the wines of the Rhône Valley, whereas Cabernet's reputation is linked to Bordeaux. These two grapes are rarely blended in their home country due to strict traditional regulations, begging the question, what would happen? Eager to find out, Australian producers created the first Shiraz-Cabernet blend in the mid-1900s.
