Sauvignon Blanc

Our Seven Cities Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent example of Chile's signature style. Its sharp acidity is countered by smooth textures, with mouthwatering minerality and citrus. The famous Maule Valley is Chile's oldest wine valley, established over a century ago. Here our local winemaking partners tend to 1000 acres of sustainable vineyard, transforming four generations of knowledge into wines overflowing with Chilean spirit. Maule Valley's secret lies in its soils. Minerals and sediment deposited by rain and rivers make them rich in nutrients, while larger bits of rock create easy water drainage. As roots delve deep into the earth, searching for water, they unearth a rich geological history, channeling it into the grapes. This results in captivating wines with distinctly Chilean character. WINE REGION:

Outline of Maule Valley DO

Maule Valley DO

When it comes to well-balanced reds of great value, Chile's Maule Valley is hard to beat. The southernmost part of Chile's Central Valley, Maule is a large sub-region with many microclimates and soil types. The Maule River and the nearby Pacific Ocean both greatly influence its climate. Maule was one of the first places in Chile planted with grapevines. It is famed today for its 100-year-old Carignan vines and the densely sumptuous wines they produce. More typical, however, are its powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, spicy aromatic Carménère and plush Merlot reds. For whites, check out Maule's cheery Sauvignon Blanc and rounded Chardonnay. Chile’s Denominación de Origen (DO) classification system focuses on separating wines by the physical location of origin. To use the DO classification on a label, a producer must have pulled 85 percent of the fruit used in a wine from a defined regional location. The DO system names wine regions in the country from north to south.

Seven Cities

The fall of the Seven Cities marked the end of the conquest in Chile when seven Spanish outposts were destroyed or abandoned in 1600. This was a significant pivot point in the region's history, recorded through indigenous and colonial Spanish art and literature. We acknowledge this complex history and crucial turning point with wines that proudly showcase their uniquely Chilean characteristics and come to life in the glass.
