ABOUT THIS WINE:

Seven Cities

Seven Cities

Cabernet Sauvignon

The country of Chile is beautiful and stark, with mountain peaks that run down the spine of the country and quickly fall into the sea. With one wind that blows off the ocean from Antarctica and another that blows off the Andes, the grapes that would otherwise bake in the high-altitude sunlight are cooled to just the right temperatures. Seven Cities is a wine that is as beautiful as the scenery itself. Elegant and fresh, this wine has a backbone of dark fruit and fresh mint chocolate and a beautiful undercurrent of smoke. We love pairing it with braises and stews, but it will pair well with almost anything you throw at it. Try it with the smokey grilled steaks to enhance the smoke flavors. Judges like it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2018 USA Wine Ratings Competition and was named the "Best Chilean Wine!"

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to SD.

WINE REGION:

Outline of Chile

Chile

In recent years, Chile has increasingly produced incredible wines of exceptional value. With a setting influenced by the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, the Atacama Desert and even Antarctica, Chile is a diverse land with rocky foothills, lush valley floors and cool coastal zones. Chile gained international renown for its New World take on classic Bordeaux varieties. Interestingly, it's an obscure red Bordeaux variety—Carménère—that has become Chile's signature grape. But other Old World varieties do equally well in Chile; Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay have all become mainstays of Chilean wine, exhibiting impressive levels of quality and balance in the country's distinct terroirs.

TASTING NOTES:

Blackcurrant

Chocolate

Smoke

This full-bodied wine has beautiful notes of smoke, blackcurrant, mint, and chocolate. We love the balance of acidity and tannins. This elegant wine is best paired with darker meats and roasted vegetables to accentuate the earthy, smokey notes. When our experts are looking for something with a darker, moodier profile this is the perfect wine.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Seven Cities

The fall of the Seven Cities marked the end of the conquest in Chile when seven Spanish outposts were destroyed or abandoned in 1600. This was a significant pivot point in the region's history, recorded through indigenous and colonial Spanish art and literature. We acknowledge this complex history and crucial turning point with wines that proudly showcase their uniquely Chilean characteristics and come to life in the glass.
