Riesling Kabinett
Elegant, fine, and polished, this is an excellent wine for many occasions. Compared with other regions growing the grape, the strength of the German Riesling is that it contains little alcohol but an abundance of flavors. This wine is full of crisp green apple and honeycomb that unfold while drinking this enticingly zippy Kabinett. The palate is delicately sweet but is offset neatly by tart lime and quince flavors. The finish is steely, long, and dry. It’s enjoyable now but should hold well through 2028.

Germany's most famous wine region, the small but mighty Rheingau has built its stellar reputation on its delightfully dry Riesling. Thanks to the south-facing aspect of the Rhine Valley's slopes here—plus the shelter provided by the Taunus hills—the Rheingau's vineyards enjoy a unique mesoclimate that helps grapes ripen perfectly. As a result, these medium- to full-bodied white wines often display satisfying flavors of ripe peach. Fans of red wine should also look out for its Pinot Noir (known locally as Spätburgunder), which usually comes from vineyards near the village of Assmannhausen.
