Ranasesina
Spain
Freshness is king in the 90 Point, Gold medal winning Ranasesina Viura
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Ranasesina
Viura
When most people think of Spanish wines they are thinking of rich, fruit-forward, tannic red wines, wines that carry some heft. This wine is different. With fresh citrus and peach flavors balanced the influence of oak, it’s a wine that keeps opening up with every sip. The creamy mouthfeel plays off of the fruit and flowers and makes it wonderful for pairing with seafood. We think that a grilled fish with mango salsa, ceviche, or even a fresh seafood salad would be great accompaniments. And judges love it too! It took home 90 Points and a Gold medal from the 2019 Sommeliers Challenge.

WINE REGION:
Spain
While its reputation as a serious wine destination was eclipsed by France and Italy for many years, ignoring Spain today means missing out on some of the world's most exciting wines. Enjoying hundreds of miles of sun-kissed coastline and rocky interiors at higher elevations, Spain provides an ideal location for vineyards. Whether it is sparkling cavas from Catalonia, crisp Verdejos from Rueda, sublime Tempranillos from Ribera del Duero or inky Monastrells from Valencia, Spain has many wine styles to explore, all expressing the country's wildly unique terroir.

TASTING NOTES:
Pear
Lemon
White Flowers
This is an amazingly fresh, mineral-driven wine. We love how it defies expectation and has rich tree fruit flavors that mingle with flowers. That combination makes it the perfect accompaniment for seafood.
