Old World expertise meets New World technology in this award-winning Cabernet
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Quebrado
Cabernet Sauvignon
Quebrado 2015 is an award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maule Valley region of Chile. Maule has a long winemaking tradition stretching back to the colonial era. Spanish explorers and settlers planted the first vines in the 18th century, craving a taste of home and seeing the potential in the verdant tropical soils. Since then, the art of viticulture has thrived in the Maule Valley with ancient techniques passed down from generation to generation.
In spite of this long legacy of winemaking, however, it was only in the 1990s that the Maule Valley began to attract attention from the larger world of wine connoisseurs. The steadily growing demand for Chilean wine brought an influx of capital and new technologies into the region. The combination of these New World technologies with Old World techniques has resulted in a remarkable blend of ancient and modern, which was honored ...

WINE REGION:
Chile
In recent years, Chile has increasingly produced incredible wines of exceptional value. With a setting influenced by the Andes Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, the Atacama Desert and even Antarctica, Chile is a diverse land with rocky foothills, lush valley floors and cool coastal zones. Chile gained international renown for its New World take on classic Bordeaux varieties. Interestingly, it's an obscure red Bordeaux variety—Carménère—that has become Chile's signature grape. But other Old World varieties do equally well in Chile; Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay have all become mainstays of Chilean wine, exhibiting impressive levels of quality and balance in the country's distinct terroirs.
