Chenin Blanc

In Swartland, South Africa, vineyards are planted in varying locations, from steep mountain foothills to rolling hillsides, and they experience a classic continental climate. Just 40 miles north of Cape Town, the region experiences hot, dry, and sunny days during the growing season. In the afternoon, breezes sweep in from the bordering Atlantic Ocean, giving relief to vines and allowing them to develop intense and beautiful acidity. Winemakers love the salinity that the maritime influence provides, and vines are meticulously farmed across the entire appellation. Our winemaking partners have been crafting beautiful bottles in the region for years, and our Chenin Blanc from Posted Accord is no exception. Sourced from fruit grown on land with deep granite soils, this wine is fruit-forward, rich, and textural. A multi-award-winner, this wine took home 94 points and a Platinum Medal from t ...

WINE REGION:

Outline of Swartland

Swartland

Swartland is one of South Africa's largest wine regions, famed for its mouthwatering Chenin Blancs, fragrant Syrahs and punchy Pinotage. Forty miles north of Cape Town, Swartland covers a large area from the Atlantic Ocean to the sun-kissed plains of Piketberg. The region has a hot, dry climate away from the cooling ocean, with ancient shale and granite-based soils. This forces the vines to work hard, producing small but concentrated grapes.

TASTING NOTES:

Melon

Mango

Banana

Juicy tropical fruit flavors of summer melon, mango, and sweet banana meld with yellow pear and lemon-lime citrus notes. With a rich and round body balanced by poppy and bright acidity, this wine will make your mouth water with every sip! "There's a term in Afrikaans – fynbos – that describes the unique mix of vegetation that grows on the Cape of South Africa. There's a touch of fynbos on this pleasant Chenin Blanc, one that supports the citrus fruit and adds depth. Very interesting wine!" – Rich Cook, 2021 Monterey International Wine Competition.

ABOUT THE BRAND:

large bunches of red grapes on the vine

Posted Accord

When others only see differences, we see commonalities. At Posted Accord, we declare that bringing these two sides together in harmonious union sparks quality and originality in a way one cannot possibly forget. To find success in South African vineyards, winemakers must form a truce with an occasionally hostile environment. Only by embracing this land for all it is may one unlock the beauty it may produce. Our wines find common ground between man and country, with each bottle being both strikingly unctuous and undeniably South African.
