Outbound 2:47
Monterey County, California
The two time Silver medal winning Outbound 2:47 Pinot Grigio is a luxurious escape
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Outbound 2:47
Pinot Grigio
One of the best things about great wine is that it can draw you out of yourself and into a reverie. We’ve found that when wine and food work together that the results can be utterly transcendent. Aromatic and crisp without sacrificing any weight, this wine is perfect for pairing. This Pinot Grigio has beautiful notes of peach that are supported by subtle hints of white flowers. Try pairing it with spicy Cajun food, a steak, or a rich risotto—it can handle the complexity. For us the Outbound 2:47 is an escape we wish we could make more often. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver at the 2018 Denver International Wine Competition and at the 2018 Sommelier Challenge.

WINE REGION:
Monterey County
Not to be confused with Monterey AVA, Monterey County is a larger designation that also includes the Carmel and San Antonio valleys, among others. Encompassing three distinct zones at the northern end of the Central Coast, Monterey County produces vast amounts of high-quality Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris. For reds, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have often been replaced by Pinot Noir, Syrah and Grenache in recent years. These cooler-climate grapes achieve greatness through the influence of Monterey Bay, which pushes cold fogs and chilly afternoon winds down the Salinas Valley, tempering the sun's heat and allowing a long, moderate ripening season.

Dominated by peach and white flowers, the aromatic Outbound is a fantastic summer sipper. Try pairing this with spicier and richer foods, the ripe acidity helps cut through the heat.
