ABOUT THIS WINE:

Orinda Hayes

Orinda Hayes

Pinot Noir

Using traditional techniques to create wine filled with finesse and a sense of place, the wines from Orinda Hayes are nothing short of perfect. The fruit used to create this Barrel Select Pinot Noir was hand-harvested during cool early morning hours. An optical sorter was used in an effort to eliminate less than perfect berries, resulting in highly concentrated flavors. A classical expression of the elegance of California Central Coast Pinot Noir, this wine is full-bodied, featuring flavors of bright red and blue fruit and aromas of sweet florals. A perfect sipper to share with friends on a cool fall night.

Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, UT, VT, WA.

WINE REGION:

Outline of California

California

California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
