ABOUT THIS WINE:
Nino Franco
Valdobbiadene Prosecco Rustico
This is a wine with incredibly high credentials. Called Rustico, this is a fantastic Italian sparkler. The word 'Rustico' dates back to an old winemaking tradition where Prosecco was made using a short second fermentation in the bottle and leaving the sediment in the wine. Although no longer the technique, the name 'Rustico' has remained as a reflection of quality and tradition. 100% Glera grapes (traditionally called Prosecco) from classic production area hillside vineyards situated at medium to high altitude.
NOTE: This is NOT a Firstleaf Exclusive wine and is not eligible for discounts, member pricing, or member guarantee. Limited Availability.
Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MD, ME, MI, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, VT, WA.ABOUT THIS WINE

Prosecco Superiore
As with many regions, some of the best wines come from the surrounding hills. Vines tend to produce grapes with greater winemaking potential when grown under stress. And in hillside vineyards, where the soils are rockier and the weather more extreme, vines put their energy into producing grapes rather than sending out shoots. This is certainly the case with Prosecco Superiore DOCG. Made with grapes grown in the higher vineyard slopes of the Conegliano di Valdobbiadene hills north of Venice, this sparkling wine is produced to a stricter set of requirements than "standard" DOC Prosecco. The Glera grapes (which must make up 85 percent of the Prosecco Superiore blend) are often hand-harvested in these steep, picturesque hillsides.
