McIntyre
Santa Lucia Highlands, California
Drink in the complexity of a well-made California Chardonnay
ABOUT THIS WINE:

McIntyre
Chardonnay
Great wines speak to both sides of your brain. They are cerebral yet artistic, rational yet hedonistic. Take this 2018 McIntyre Estate Vineyard Chardonnay. For the analytical left side, there is precision, structure, and minerality. For the intuitive right side, there is texture, opulence, and concentration. It’s a wine that does the work. It can delight with its sensuality while provoking thought. We love the texture, closer to Chablis than many of the big, buttery, and oaky California Chards. This wine has some of those characteristics, but what is possesses past that is what makes all the difference: balance. It is a truly balanced wine that we keep coming back to again and again.
NOTE: This is NOT a Firstleaf Exclusive wine.

WINE REGION:

Santa Lucia Highlands
Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Lucia Mountains, this small but mighty area was recognized for the quality of its terroir and became an AVA in 1991. Cooled by Pacific Ocean fogs and strong Monterey Bay coastal breezes, the sunny vineyards here enjoy one of the longest growing seasons in the region. Some regard its powerful Pinot Noir and deeply flavored Chardonnay as among the best California has to offer. And if you want to look beyond classic Burgundy grapes, try Santa Lucia Highland's intriguing Northern Rhône-inspired Syrah.

TASTING NOTES:

Honeysuckle

Toast

Peach
Shimmering straw-yellow in color. Expressive scents of pear nectar, white peach, chamomile, and iodine pick up smoky mineral accent with air. Silky and energetic on the palate, offering mineral-tinged citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors and a deeper suggestion of buttered toast. Delivers a suave blend of richness, leaving pear nectar and sweet butter notes behind.
