Pinot Noir
Focusing on making place-specific wines isn't the easiest task, but it's always nice to be rewarded. James Suckling awarded this wine with 94 points! In an effort to produce a wine that pays honorable tribute to the esteemed AVA, they sourced grapes from premium sites throughout the region. This blend includes several of the vineyards that have shown as standouts within the vast and rugged Sonoma Coast. Sourced from Richioli, Cartan Vineyard, and Tina Marie. Seeing almost a year in oak really allowed the wine to mature to a delicious, accessible, but still complex Pinot.
NOTE: This is NOT a Firstleaf Exclusive Wine and is not eligible for discounts, member pricing, or member guarantee. Limited Availability.
Due to state registrations, we cannot ship this wine to AL, AZ, CO, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, VT, WAABOUT THIS WINE

WINE REGION:
![Outline of Sonoma Coast](https://images.firstleaf.com/taxons/1852/normal/California_Sonoma_County.png?1616011086)
Sonoma Coast
Stretching along California's raw and rugged northern shores—and reaching quite far inland—Sonoma Coast is the largest AVA in Sonoma County. The proximity to the ocean makes wines here very different from those from more central AVAs. Whether the vineyards are on high ridges above the fog line or warm, fog-shrouded valley floors, the marine soils, low temperatures and cool Pacific breezes slow the ripening of the grapes. The result? Highly structured, delicate wines with plenty of acidity. The main stars here are white peach-tinged Chardonnay and wild strawberry-flavored Pinot Noir, but you will also find some excellent cool-climate Syrah with notes of white pepper and cherry.

Martin Ray
Martin Ray was a pioneer dedicated to crafting single varietal, region-specific wine from 1943 through 1972 in Saratoga, in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Mentored by Paul Masson, he took a Burgundian approach to his winemaking and developed one of the most historic properties in California, known as Mount Eden. In 2003, Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery made its home in the Russian River Valley, on the edge of Green Valley at one of the oldest continually working wineries in California. Today, Courtney and his winemaking team devote themselves to Ray’s ideology of making “wines of place.”
