In "La Bernardine" red, Grenache is the main grape used in the blend, with a smaller proportion of Syrah and Mourvèdre. The climate is warm and Mediterranean-influenced, with hot days, cool nights and drying winds to keep grapes healthy. This gives the vineyards ideal conditions, aided by rocky soils and galets roulés stones, which soak up the daytime heat to radiate it back to the vines at night.
