With romantic rolling hills and winding roads, the North Coast appellation of California's wine country is idyllic. Vineyards planted in the region sit at high elevations and on valley floors, making the area incredibly unique in how it grows fruit. The climate is classically Californian—dry, hot days that showcase sunny skies allow fruit to ripen fully. A steep drop in temperatures at night offers grapes a chance to rest and develop elegant natural acidity and concentrated flavors. Our 2020 Luxana Sauvignon Blanc is a near-perfect reflection of the dramatic effect that the terroir has on the final wines that come out of the region. This wine is a more serious version of the fan-favorite varietal and features a unique flavor profile. It was aged in neutral oak barrels and saw lees contact, an aging technique that winemakers frequently use in more robust white varietals like Chardonnay ...

The North Coast AVA is a vast "super region" covering three million acres of prime land north of San Francisco. It encompasses the famous wine counties of Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino, as well as Lake, Marin and Solano. While most wines from these counties are made under one of the prestigious regional AVAs, winemakers can also blend grapes from different counties. In this way, they create wines that show off the quality of the entire region and are not limited to specific terroirs. Common varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel.
