Impress
California
A Silver medal winning Sauvignon Blanc that is sure to impress
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Impress
Sauvignon Blanc
We are incredibly excited to welcome back an Impress wine to Firstleaf. Impress wines do exactly what their name suggests, and we enjoy every sip. This California Sauvignon Blanc really shines in the glass. The warm days and cool breezes at night in Lodi allow the grapes to exhibit mild notes of lemongrass and crisp acidity as well as mouthwatering flavors reminiscent of pear, citrus, and melon. A perfect pairing for coastal foods, we have been loving it with citrus marinated grilled fish, but it would also nicely complement lightly fried foods like fish and chips, fried calamari, and vegetable tempura. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal from the 2019 West Coast Wine Competition and the 2019 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.

WINE REGION:
California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.

TASTING NOTES:
Lime
Fig
Lemon
The ripe acidity on this wine makes it the perfect accompaniment to many different types of food, but we think that this is at its best with seafood. The wine's citrus notes with just a hint of fig complement fresh foods best.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
Impress
Never to be confused with something flashy or loud, the wines of Impress are about honest subtly. A mutual respect that is built with each sip. The transparency of the land, the grapes, and the hard work that went into each bottle. The layers of flavor do not lie, and they certainly do impress.
