Imballo
Italy
A fruit-forward, bright ruby red that's a local Tuscan favorite
ABOUT THIS WINE:
Imballo
Toscana Rosso
When it comes to Toscano Rosso, we've learned one universal truth: always trust the locals. For Imballo 2015, we’ve collaborated with our favorite Tuscan winemakers to bring you a fruit-forward red in the style loved in the enotecas that dot the Italian countryside.
Imballo Rosso is crafted using the centuries-old techniques that define traditional Tuscan winemaking. This means handling the fruit as gently as possible, soft-pressing to minimize movement and scouring of the grapes. While time and labor intensive, these methods yield silky tannins perfect for framing the wine’s robust flavors.
Imballo 2015 Toscano Rosso is a careful balance of select Sangiovese grapes with Ciliegiolo, Italian for cherry, varietals, to give this blend a vibrant fruit flavor. The result is an opaque rosso with a red berry rim, with aromas of dark berries and vanilla. Imballo Toscano Rosso ...

WINE REGION:
Italy
While France takes the crown for the most famous wines styles and grape varieties, Italy is where wine was first perfected. The ancient Greeks called it Oenotria—"land of the vines"—and the Roman Empire advanced grape growing and winemaking to a level of quality we still enjoy today. But behind Italy's best-known wines, such as Chianti, Barolo and prosecco, there's an almost endless diversity of delights awaiting the intrepid explorer. The key to understanding Italian wine is regionality and (of course) food. From the aromatic and sparkling whites of the north to Sicily's rich and spicy reds, Italy offers wine lovers a lifetime of gastronomic treats.
