Galloping Tortoise
California
Welcome this Silver medal winning Red to your collection
ABOUT THIS WINE:

Galloping Tortoise
Red Blend
Everyone knows the story of the tortoise and the hare. With wine, sprinting is almost never the answer, and we love a wine that unfolds slowly and builds up steam as you taste through the glass. This wine has a unique blend of Zinfandel and Petit Verdot. The fruit forward nature of the Zinfandel shines through with bright notes of blackberry and raspberry with a subtle hint of spice. The Petit Verdot brings a deep purple color, aromas of blackcurrant, and an earthy base. Together they are simply stunning. Judges agree and sent it home from the 2018 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition with a Silver medal.

WINE REGION:

California
California is one of the most diverse winegrowing regions in the world. Spanning 850 miles along North America's west coast—and inland across mountains and valleys—California's American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) cover a dizzying array of terroir. The cold, deep waters of the Pacific Ocean play a major role in cooling California's vineyards, sending fog and chilly air up to 100 miles inland. This tempers the daytime heat and allows grapes to ripen slowly but fully. Cooler-climate grape varieties thrive closest to the sea, while further inland, bigger, bolder wines prevail.
