ABOUT THIS WINE:
FogBreak
Grüner Veltliner
Our FogBreak Grüner Veltliner captures the magic of misty mornings. Each sip of this wine is filled with freshness and vibrancy, like a bite of a green apple. Grüner Veltliner is known as Austria's national grape and feels most at home in cool climates. In California's Monterey County, vineyards are enveloped by chilly ocean fogs that lazily roll across the hillsides each morning. Come afternoon, the mist clears, allowing grapes to feel the warming glow of sunlight. This cycle repeats daily, creating perfect conditions for this Austrian grape variety to thrive. It can maintain its natural acidity during cool parts of the day, then ripens during warmer moments to develop bright fruit flavors. This is an exciting new varietal to try if you usually go for crisp white wines like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. Enjoy it well-chilled with light bites and clear skies. Scroll through the ...

WINE REGION:
Monterey County
Not to be confused with Monterey AVA, Monterey County is a larger designation that also includes the Carmel and San Antonio valleys, among others. Encompassing three distinct zones at the northern end of the Central Coast, Monterey County produces vast amounts of high-quality Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Gris. For reds, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon have often been replaced by Pinot Noir, Syrah and Grenache in recent years. These cooler-climate grapes achieve greatness through the influence of Monterey Bay, which pushes cold fogs and chilly afternoon winds down the Salinas Valley, tempering the sun's heat and allowing a long, moderate ripening season.

TASTING NOTES:
Pineapple
Candied Fruit
Green Apple
As you swirl, aromas of candied green apple are first to greet your nose but don't be fooled—this is not a sweet wine. The light-bodied palate introduces tart pineapple flavors with notes of yellow tree fruit and lively acidity that leaves your mouth watering.

ABOUT THE BRAND:
FogBreak
Each morning, cooling mists from the Pacific Ocean roll across the valleys of California. Vineyards below this cloud cover hold onto night's chill just a bit longer, allowing grapes to ripen slower than those that greet the morning sun. This is the inspiration for FogBreak, where each wine is a lesson in subtlety, and every sip slowly unfolds to reveal something beautiful.
